Welcome to Rick Hickmann Art Glass!

I hope to share with you my love of stained glass. I view my glass work as an art form so every design is my own creation and I do not repeat designs in my windows. I enjoy the challenge of creating a work that becomes a part of the personality of the clients and also fits in with the interior decorating. Feel free to make comments, ask questions, or critique any of my postings. If you click on the slideshow to the right you can view the pictures in a larger format.

jeanne's mountains

Jeanne Burk- Mountains 2007
Jeanne had a scene in mind of mountains with blue and yellow in the foreground. She saw a photo of a meadow with blue wildflowers and had me see what she had in mind. We worked together discussing using other colors. We ended up deciding on a darker more stormy sky with the blue on the right and a brighter sky and brighter colors to the left. I also chose Uboros glass which is the only glass with seven colors so it literally changes colors in different light. On cloudy days or as the sun sets you don't get the bright yellow. In full sun the reds and yellows jump out. It is really enjoyable to sit relax and enjoy the changing colors.
